We have been a locally owned and operated custom marine construction business since 1986. Yelton Construction Company, Inc. brings more than 33 years of knowledge to your project needs. Our founder, Doran “Chip” Dean Yelton, II, a lifelong native of Northeast Florida, started the company with one mission in mind: to build the best quality product, no matter how simple or complex, for each customer. Raised in Green Cove Springs, surfing the coast and fishing the surrounding area all his life, Chip acquired extensive knowledge of the waters surrounding our communities. His love of the water fueled his passion for the marine construction industry and so Yelton Construction came to be.

In 2019, Chip’s son, Lewis Taylor Yelton, became President and owner of Yelton Construction Company, Inc. Graduating from the University of Alabama with his degree in Marketing, Specializing in Sales, Lewis brings a new vision to the company to carry it forward into the future without compromising his father’s original idea. Our family of skilled craftsmen remains the same, strong and focused crew, ready to make your ideas in marine construction a reality. In Memory of Doran "Chip" D. Yelton II

Doran (Chip) Dean Yelton, was born in Maryville, Tennessee on July 6 th , 1955. He graduated The Bolles School and Delta State University in Mississippi. He owned and operated the largest marine contracting company in St. Johns County, Yelton Construction Company. He was known for his vibrant and loving personality. He was always there to help others and never met a stranger. He lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed fishing, water skiing diving, snowboarding, hunting and had an adventurous spirit. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed by all that knew him.
